Summary: This lecture series connects students and the larger design community with industry professionals who exemplify a theme related to the building arts. The 2015–16 theme explores building and sustaining a global practice across the realms of architecture, interior design, historic preservation, furniture design, architectural history and urban design.
The featured speakers are building-arts leaders who highlight ways in which artistic foundations elevate students in their future careers as the world’s premier architects, designers, preservationists, historians and urbanists.
The idea of this year’s lecture series is “Global Practice.”
Themes include:
• Draw students from every direction
• Propel students to global markets
• Transcontinental collaborations
• Built work on a global scale (“global building studio”)
