We were asked to design an exhibit catalog for the Detroit Institute of Arts. The exhibition “Detroit Style” on view from November 15, 2020-June 27, 2021 highlights the artistry and influence of Detroit car designers working between 1950 and present day. It will bring twelve full-size cars and experimental show cars to the museum floor. Each one highlighting significant achievements in style and technology.

Emphasis was placed on creating a unique color palette and maintaining the “car is the star” philosophy. Chapters were divided by portraits of Detroit car designers with interviews that followed. A selection of design drawings, paintings and sculptures influenced by car culture juxtapose the insightful writing of the author and curator, Benjamin W. Colman.

Yale University Press was interested in being part of the project and published the book, archiving it in their permanent art collection.
