In this project, the goal was to utilize studio lighting to highlight the student's capabilities of controlling lighting while conceptually evoking the student's chosen motif.
Desire and Disgust is a series addressing the different sensory-emotional responses an individual may have to these photographs. The use of various consistencies of food and enticing man-made pieces, including elements that might not be fully identifiable, confront the viewer’s immediate appealing or repulsive reactions to images that combine natural and artificial elements in a disarrayed composition.
These images create a conflicting response in the viewer created by the materials used in each photograph, enhanced by color and the lighting implemented. All these components came together to create alluring compositions of disgusting looking visuals.
