This assignment was to take two portrait photos that are completely different. One must be shot in the studio and the other outside of the studio. The goal was to use your art direction and photography to express whatever you feel will be an interesting portrait.

I immediately began thinking of friends that would be my model. My best friend is a very slender, pale, and beautiful. I have always thought she has the most beautiful bone structure with her collarbones, shoulders, and neck. I wanted to capture the comparison between what most people think of as beautiful and delicate compared to what I see as beautiful and delicate. I glued flowers on her face to represent the common external beauty people tend to pay attention to. With her head tilted by you are able to see these beautiful lines of her neck muscles and the studio lights create different pockets of shadows and shapes to look at and observe.
