The poster advertises an exhibition of Nickelsen Artwork, two female artists who create inspiring messages in the form of typographic posters, and Winkler’s, a fashion salesman with exceptionally good taste and style. The opening event combines the exhibitions objects with readings, dance performances, a fashion show and music.
“Aufbruch”, the titel of the exhibition, is visualized by cuts in the paper, combined with poster fragments and clothing parts in the background. “Aufbruch” has a double meaning in German. It can stand for departure or start and at the same time it can be used for a crack or a break. Along this line, the first action in the opening show picks up this motive, when a young couple cuts a hole in a paper curtain and enters the stage.
The combination of appealing typography and fashion elements behind the torn paper aroused curiosity and attracted a lot of visitors.
