A personal photo of my mother, Angie who at the time was in the throws. I asked: Mom, let me take a photo of you, she responded with a quick smile and began to pledge allegiance to America.
This was a nice part of a series of photos of street photos of my home town of Fresno, CA.
The series, "Don't Look Back" is a reflection of the destruction of a multi cultural working class community. So much for urban renewal.

My approach was to walk the streets and talk to people. Most people will ask my why would I want to take their photo. Women will at first say, "Oh no my hair is terrible. I don't have any makeup on" – etc. I tell the women, You look terrific! You're hair is nice. The women smile, we both know I'm full of Bull Shit. However they say, Okay.
For the building I see buildings that used to frighten me when I was a little boy as still ominous.

They're happy and I'm happy too. The works has been in a few galleries too.
