This design is a call for entries poster for Art + Effect, a high school poster contest sponsored by the Visual + Performing Arts Department at Cabrini University. The theme of this competition was public health The goal was to interest high school students to participate in this contest.

In this call for entries poster, I wanted to provide a symbolic depiction of 'health" by utilizing the large blue cross and "public" by using the grouping of smaller red crosses. While the majority of the typography is a san serif with a sterile treatment, the "Call 2 Create" typography demonstrates a juxtaposition of placement to represent the necessity to evaluate existing systems. By demonstrating this social justice topic in a conceptual manner, I present high school students with one of many ways they can tackle this subject and help foster stronger ideation.

As we have been living through the pandemic, people were drawn to the symbolic quality of the crosses. Typically student participants in this competition are from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This year we had submissions from Texas and Ohlahoma.
