When the current management of the gallery took over, the attitude was still affected by a post-war climate with its freedom from communism agenda "in the air". New people wanted to change this and reflect a younger outlook prevalent in the new immigration of younger and often highly educated Poles following Poland's integration into the European Community.
The Gallery has dramatically increased attendance and reputation since they took over.
A visitor said: "Looking at the poster, I thought this must be an exhibition worth seeing."
