For Special Topics, I was prompted to advocate for a cause we feel passionate about. As both a Graphic Design and Communication Studies major, I get the opportunity to learn about the many benefits of media, as well as its harmful effects. Our generation is facing a problem with media addiction like none before.
Approach
To combat media addiction, I created Speakeasy, a bar where cellphones are not allowed and face to face communication is encouraged. I was inspired by Art Deco and cell phone circuits to create a modern Art Deco aesthetic. In a counter-culture movement, you can unfollow society at Speakeasy Off the Grid Bar.
