I wanted to visually encompass the relationship between the nature of human and the nature of the machine (in this case, a sewing machine). Intentional elements intertwine with elements of fate, making each character unique and impossible to replicate. The characters express the tension between the geometric and the organic aspects of Helvetica Bold.
Results
I ultimately received positive feedback on this project and received and A from my professor. I am very happy with the results and feel that it captured the style that I was going for, and I was able to explore the material of fabric and thread in a new way.
