Reinterpret the concept of pasta, taking inspiration from Italy
Pasta is a malleable dough made of various solid and liquid substances . There is parallelism with ceramics; where you have a mouldable dough that later solidifies. In ceramics, its primary ingredient is kaolin and in pasta, flour.
Italy is a country that has been linked to pasta for thousands of years, it is one of the oldest dishes in Italian cuisine. It is also a universal dish that has spread across many cultures. There are more than a 130 types of pasta, differentiated based on their shape, filling and type of flour. Legend has it that Roman shepherds already enjoyed delicious handmade pasta with cheese and black pepper.
This work reflects a connection between sculpture, a country, its gastronomy and the symbolic relationship it has with the rest of the world.
