God Does Not Play Dice is a 418 page book about quantum physics, a study of how everything works, the best description we have of the universe. At a time when the world seems more perplexing than ever, understanding the laws and origins can give us some much-needed perspective. Imagine minds that approach the world through their own observations, not trying to get the answer, but rather trying to see further. If we had a generation that approaches the world that way, who knows where it can lead?

This editorial project approaches the subject from a neutral perspective, not swaying on one side or another, anchoring its design in this concept of building an unbiased platform for ideas to flourish. By doing so, readers are encouraged to approach quantum physics from different angles and sources, ultimately form their understanding of the universe through careful observations.

On the other hand, it has always been a challenge for a designer to find the balance point between maintaining the integrity of the original contents while keeping this dry subject from being boring. A lot of research and visualization had to be done to reinterpret the contents of physics.

The whole purpose of this project is to challenge the extent of our responsibility as graphic designers, to explore the possibility of bridging two completely different fields into people’s everyday lives for them to absorb and experience.

Physics is the study of, well, everything. Time, space, matter, energy— whether it’s the gravity that keeps the coffee in the cup or the thermodynamics that heats up the lunch, it offers an opportunity to take a glimpse under our everyday experiences, into a hidden reality. We have come to idolize sciences so much that people only take whatever new study or discovery that comes out as the gospel and close their eyes to other possibilities. It's not what the true intent of science should be.
