Goo Goo Cluster, the Nashville-based hundred-year-old candy brand, recently opened The Goo Goo Shop in downtown Nashville. The Goo Goo Shop is a combination gift shop, candy kitchen and museum. Our assignment was to create an ad for placement in the Nashville Visitor’s Guide.
Knowing our audience is here for our unparalleled music scene, we wanted to emphasize the tie between music and Goo Goo Clusters. As a decades-long sponsor of the Grand Ole Opry, Goo Goo Cluster has strong ties to country music. And the Goo Goo Shop is located around the corner from some of Nashville’s most famous honky tonks.
The ad is small and on an information-heavy page, so it was important to stand out. Building on Goo Goo’s retro-yet-timeless palette, we created a look that’s not out of place in letterpress-happy Nashville, yet unique to Goo Goo.
The client loved the ad and its evolution of Goo Goo’s graphic standards. Even though The Goo Goo Shop has only been open for 2 months, it’s already a mandatory stop for local tour guides and a boon to dentists all over Tennessee.
