For this project, I was tasked with creating a poster that brought attention to Ukraine, bring awareness to the overall situation, and highlighted something from Ukraine. This could be in the form of the current situation from news coverage or symbolism, or style that symbolizes Ukraine.

I took inspiration from Ukrainian Motanka dolls that are used in homes as household guardians. Protecting Ukrainian families from evil, while also providing health and welfare. For the design style, I took inspiration from Ukrainian stitching samplers, creating embroidery-like patterns in the poster design. Finally, I used the blue and yellow from the Ukrainian flag, adding green and brown to go along with the sunflowers and dress design.

The poster was able to showcase different Ukrainian symbols, from the Ukrainian Motanka doll to the stitching samplers. Successfully created a poster that took inspiration from Ukraine and bring attention to some of the few things Ukraine is known for while also bringing awareness and attention to the crisis they are going through.
