ELECTRON is one of the meccas of electronic cultures in Europe. Founded in Geneva 12 years ago, this event mixes music, dance, cinema, performance, exhibitions, VJing and workshops for four days and four nights, in over 13 venues in the centre of the international city.
It's audience is large. It brings together enthusiasts from over 4 generations, from the latest newbie to the longtime connoisseurs. For the 2015 edition, we decided to give ELECTRON "retro" codes inspired from the Teletext*, while giving it a modern feel. We chose to subvert these radical, colorful, structured, and animated codes, because they are strong and adjustable. We also chose the Teletext in order to make use of it as a platform of communication that many swiss (and european) people relate to and use actively. It's a way of giving a new impulse to the Teletext (which will be celebrating 30 years of existence in 2016), but also to surprise the audience by communicating through this channel first, and also to allow the festival to create a partnership with the platform.
The result is a vibrant, musical, fun and colorful ensemble, infinitely adjustable by the simplicity of its conception and elementary forms. The final look attracted people's gaze by its strength and radical aspect that piques the interest of young as well as older people.
Our ELECTRON project won the award for the best integrated campaign at the Grand Prix de la Création 2015.
*The Teletext is a service that delivers information in text format and animations, broadcast through television channel signals.
