Big Data Everywhere are international conferences exchanging information about the emerging business solutions using the big data, open-source Hadoop platform. Craig-Teerlink Design was asked to brand the conference, the first taking place in Israel. The name of the conference was not fully established at the outset and changed three times during a rushed schedule.
Craig-Teerlink design studied the anticipated audience, Hadoop’s new, but fast-growing influence and how best to communicate the excitement of this conference. The rushed schedule, naming challenges and the myriad of deliverables, both print and web, were taken into account.
A graphic illustrates the name and excitement of the conference ‘Big Data Everywhere’ by illuminating the globe with streams of data originating beyond it, speeding toward one region. As the dominant identifier, the illustration, free of any language, communicates a worldwide perspective. The logotype was designed to function both independently and in tandem with the image, where it appears to be the origin of the data streams. In addition to these two elements, Craig-Teerlink was hired to develop a comprehensive communications plan to promote and serve the conference. Many conferences have successfully been given around the world.
