For years I've been thinking about reinterpreting the bizarre fairytales we grew up with. They are so twisted, abstract, creative. We created in studio dioramas. When I lit the subjects, I lit them like the scene. When I put the elements in set, I used the background so our tones blend naturally. We create bounce light that bleeds the scenes colors naturally onto the subject. We create a similar 3D ground on top of the background ground, so the colors and textures blend seamlessly. We create a light tent out of the actual background, so that the scene is naturally shown in the reflection of the metallic elements. It's all about the right ingredients. All shot exactly to perspective, height, angle.
