We visited the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan to see how they are using robotics to clean up one of the worst nuclear accidents in history.

This image was shot on top of the Unit 3 reactor inside Fukushima Daiichi. This area was so radioactive we could only spend 10 minutes in this location. Outfitted in colorful protective clothing, three layers of gloves and socks, boots, and respirators, it was an extremely challenging place to shoot.

The image conveys the extreme, almost unreal, conditions. Details like the colorful suits, helmets, and gloves put the viewer inside the post-apocalyptic nuclear reactor. The image feels like a scene from a movie or a video game - it's a reality that is too weird to be real.
