In this assignment we were each given an existing client to create a new logo for. I was assigned Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Due to the fact that this was a government agency I knew that I needed to make something extremely simplistic and somewhat formal to portray the authority and stability we hope to see from an agency that keeps us safe and healthy. The CDC deals with pathogens and ailments but they also address more broad topics such as death from gun violence, obesity, and opioid addiction. This made me think of picking a smybol that relates to humanity and the body so I manipulated the initials of the CDC to resemble a chromosome which is an elemental part of all human beings.

I think the results I got were close to one of my first concepts for this project. I was heavily inspired by the look and feel of the famous worm logo that NASA used in the 1970s. I think this logo was successful in meeting the client's needs and personality.
