The title of the magazine is Noted: A series of travel notes. I wanted the design to be simple, recognizable, and versatile. The cover features a photograph framed by a black square outline and a bold title. Contemplating about how the design would evolve in future editions of the magazine. I thought that the cover photograph should set the tone. The table of contents repeats the bold title with the black square outline which frames “a note to the reader” and the listing of the titles of each section in the issue. They are three sections, each features an opening page that has a pattern inspired by the subject matter of each story. For example the first story is called "The Makers" which is about three craft makers based in Georgia and North Carolina. The opener is a two-page spread with a pattern design of tools on the left and a diary styled excerpt on the right to present the reader with an overview of the section. In order to allow the reader to explore as if they were doing the traveling themselves the magazine has limited copy. Page layouts are primarily photography in two page spreads, full-page spreads, and half page spreads. The closing page takes on the same design as the cover and table of contents. It leaves the reader with references on each story and an open space for them to write their own notes should they choose to visit the places themselves.
