The original assignment was to design a series of six fruit and vegetable themed postage stamps. After initially dropping this project, the USPS came back ten years later and re-initiated it as a series of four stamps with the theme of "Summer Harvest".

My approach was to reference both vintage seed packets and vintage fruit crate labels for inspiration. I didn't follow either of those two sources in a literal manner because for something the size of a postage stamp, both had way too much information. But I needed to distill the packet and label reference to their essence in order to successfully solve this design problem. Also I had to come up with one over-arching color palette, plus one basic design that could be applied to all four stamps.

This set of stamps was met with overwhelming approval, and received very positive reviews both online and in print when it went on sale in July, 2015.
