Several years ago I was given an assignment to provide a few drawings for an anniversary edition of de Sade's 120 Days of Sodom that was never produced. I kept reading his writing and was inspired to start making digital art that combined traditional art, photography and design to show off the many types of work I do in an edgy way and have a themed project I could add to over the years.
Usually my ideas are sketched out and shown to the model before a photo shoot, to give her a general idea of what I have in mind. For this piece I asked my very experienced model Jessi June to grab the grid I use behind my backdrop, to echo the graphic squares on the final art and add a surreal 2D element to contradict the depth of the background. All digital work was done in Photoshop and Illustrator.
Together and separately prints of a few early pieces made for this project have won awards (Creativity, Graphis, Graphic Design USA magazine) and were published in several e and print books including Aphrodisia 2, Creativity 39, and The World's Greatest Erotic Art 3.
