Ebola is a deadly disease surrounded by many controversies, locally and globally. Posters Against Ebola (http://postersagainstebola.com/) is a place for designers, artists, and activists to express ideas, solutions, and opinions about this disease and the human reaction to it. All proceeds from the sale of these posters goes to Doctors Without Borders.
This poster featured a stylized traditional mask design of the Ivory Coast, where the Ebola outbreak was at its worst. I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa from 1996 to 1998 and so Africa and its people and its rich heritage hold a special place in my heart. I want the world to know that Africans are more than the tragedies we hear about on the news in the U.S. They are a strong, resilient people who will overcome Ebola as they have overcome much else in the past.
This poster was produced as a limited edition screenprint with printing donated by my local El Paso, Texas print shop, Proper Print Shop http://www.theproperprintshop.com/.
