No assignment but rather a practice to photograph nature element objects at close distances.

I wanted to find small objects while I was on a small hike through a path in the mountains and focus in on them to isolate them from their backgrounds, to highlight their beauty. Some flowers that are commonly seen in the Rocky Mountains in my area were growing as a bunch in one patch along the path I was walking, and I experimented with and without a macro lens on top of a stock 35mm lens with varying f-stops in an attempt to capture the image; This image was captured with the macro lens on.

The result was the breathtaking, simple beauty of nature, highlighted by the sun on the background from the bright sky above.
