FCB Chicago requested images that were to show the varied and sometimes surprising places that Aramark, a food, services, and uniform provider, can be found. Impossible elements needed to be joined seamlessly in a photo realistic style. For example, a bubble around a hospital, a food truck and road inside a building. We collaborated with Kristin Haley from the agency and photographer, Michael Nager, to create these images.
We had an artist and tech on set during the photo shoots. That allowed us to work with the creatives as the shooting progressed, creating comps for backgrounds, bubbles, crowds, a road, and a food truck, as well as many other things, from the multitude of elements that were shot. Communication with the photographer, client and agency creatives was critical, making it possible to move easily and quickly to post production.
As the images moved into post production, we had to recreate the images high res. We specialize in creating photo illustrations from photographic elements. We needed to build a background for the hospital that didn’t exist, as well as build bubbles in specific positions. On the food truck image, we had to build a multi story office interior, populate with rows of desks and people as well as add the road, truck and city. On all images we try to pay particular attention to perspective and lighting to give as realistic a feel as possible.
The initial hospital image received a very positive response. Ultimately, FCB Chicago and Aramark moved forward with three additional images.
