This is the poster for the first show at Soho Rep. after the theater closed for over a year during Covid. The title comes from a meme that starts with “While you were partying, I studied the blade,” and the art conveys the subject of the play, white male aggression, in an intriguing and not overly dramatic way.

Capture the essence of the play in a super minimal way. Client's directive was that art should be: slightly funny, maybe a bit odd, totally simple and not too emotional.

“While You Were Partying” played to sold out audiences and received rave reviews. Our favorite headline was in New York Magazine, because clearly, it is a riff on our poster: "The Sharp-Edged Sword of While You Were Partying"
