Design and publish a book to present the works of Australian photographer Luke Cody. A book that compiles his most recent photographic works documenting conflicts throughout various parts of the world.
That we design a cover that can provide a conceptual representation of the two words, “conflicting interests”, by putting the two words against each other, rotating them so that they are against each other, setting them apart by using contrasting colours, black versus white. The inside is conceived in such a way as to avoid being repetitive, designed in a way so that every other page will be different, thereby generating interest. We used black poster-board by Fedrigoni for the cover, with a UVI varnish, white silk-screen printing and an embossed seal. Inside, stucco art paper was used to print the photographs on triton paper with a protective varnish.
Search for different means of publishing a book that would give it additional value. Include a container inside the book that could hold individual photos by the author, attached to the book. Revise the concept of the photography book, finding ways to contribute something new.
