We were challenged with creating a poster that would literally bring to life one of the Florida Aquarium’s important conservation efforts. That is, preserving and restoring coral reefs. The Florida Aquarium was even creating a new exhibit called “Heart Of The Sea” which would feature distinctive corals and sea creatures with the purpose being to educate people on how important coral reefs are to sustaining life in the ocean.
We created a colorful coral in the shape and likeness of a heart – down to the last intricate detail. We also included several different sea creatures swimming inside and around the coral reef. We thought this image really spoke to the importance of corals and how they sustain and support 25% of the ocean’s marine life. Additionally, we thought this image worked nicely with the new coral reef exhibit, which was going to be called “Heart Of The Sea.”
The Florida Aquarium marketing team really liked how we communicated the life-giving importance of coral reefs and how important it is preserve and restore them, especially since many reefs are being threatened by storms and global warming as well by pollution and unsustainable fishing practices.
