A new modern chamber choir needed a logo and branding. The choir was founded with the mission of bringing engaging performances of the highest quality to audiences across North Carolina's Triangle region. The ensemble explores a full spectrum of great choral music, from Gregorian chant to newly composed works, with an emphasis on music of the Renaissance and Baroque eras. They wanted a logo that was traditional with a modern twist.
The two founders of the choir are a conductor and soprano with a focus in early music. After talking to them about what their goals were for the choir, I decided to use a mix of fonts to give it the traditional & modern look they were looking for. The left side of the logo uses a serif, more traditional font, with an abstracted conductor baton splitting it in a diagonal to become a more modern font.
The choir was very happy with the result. They had a successful kickstarter campaign and have been performing to rave reviews.
