With the goal of creating a sense of movement and motion within the context of a 2-dimensional surface, dance becomes the inspiration for graphic and typographic experiments. This poster illustrates the ballet term, fouetté, "a step in ballet in which the dancer stands on one foot and makes a whiplike movement with the other".

Fouetté combines photographed type manipulations with digital typography. Through cutting, moving, and folding the paper is manipulated to convey motion associated with a specific dance movement.
