The Yangtze River is our mother river, nurturing and witnessing the prosperous city, the glorious life, and the unpredictable future. The development of the Yangtze River relies on scientific exploitation and protection. The Exhibition calls for the creative design schemes theme with ‘The Yangtze River · The Future’. Entries need to demonstrate the present reality in depth and be able to inspire others in the future. The design works require to reveal the harmonious commensal relationship between Yangtze River and mankind, provide constructive ideas and inspirations for ‘The Great Preservation of Yangtze River’, and offer constructive thinkings for the construction and wonderful future of Yangtze River Economic Zone.
While researching the Yangtze River, I discovered the strong connection between the river and its people. I decided to pay homage to the river by using blue silk. Considering that both the river and the ancient tradition of silk production are apart of Chinese cultural heritage, they seemed to blend seamlessly together. As part of my color palette, I choose green to represent the lush land surrounding the Yangtze River and red, the most traditional Chinese color. I overlapped the typography to represent the relationship between China’s people and the Yangtze River, woven together as a rich tapestry of man and nature.
