I was hired by Drinkworks' advertising and packaging design agency Motiv Design out of Boston,Mass to bring to life this key visual for their "cosmopolitan" pod for their newly launched at-home cocktail making appliance. This is one of the many images we created for the design of the appliance packaging, and will also be used throughout their digital and print advertising campaigns.

The initial request was to approach this using CGI, however I felt this image would be much more compelling if this was all composited of photographic elements. There is always a bit of realism that just doesn't always get captured using CGI. My approach was relatively simple, tho there where many steps involved. I was able to photograph each element (i.e, Cosmo liquid, Cosmo liquid + flavor queues, empty pod, filled pod, split pod, split pod filled with cosmo etc.) separately and perfectly lined up, to ultimately composite and blend each of the 30+ photographic elements together to create this final image.

The challenge of creating this image with photographic elements was absolutely worth it, and the final image was very well received by the agency and the client!
