Pecha Kucha is a challenging speaking format, originally from Tokyo, that gathers ten local creatives from all walks of life. Pentagram Austin designs a custom, silk-screened poster for each of the events which are staged at a variety of unique venues around town. The concepts of the posters take their clue from the personalities of the different locales where the events are held.
Pecha Kucha 21 took place on the outdoor veranda of the Long Center for the Performing Arts. The building has a distinctive columned facade that looks out over Lady Bird Lake which runs through the heart of Austin. For the poster we played with the idea of a Pecha Kucha muse lurking in the depths of the lake.
