Hungarian novelist Magda Szabó was born 100 years ago, in 1917. She also wrote dramas, essays, studies, memoirs, and poetry. She is the most translated Hungarian author, with publications in 42 countries and over 30 languages.
This logo, emphasizing her multiplicity in the Hungarian literature, was designed for a large-scale, centennial exhibition entitled ‘I Have Kept So Many Secrets…’ at Petőfi Literary Museum.
The logo’s ligatures reflect the main concept of the exhibition: Szabó builds a private mythology around her own ancestors in her writings and what parts these people and their connections play roles in her works.
