12 wine producers of the Thrace region in Turkey gathered to start this wine route project in association with the Thrace Tourism Operators to increase gastro-tourism and eno-tourism. We were asked to design the logo and corporate identity for the first wine route project in Turkey. It was very exciting because actually it is the region where the very first wine route in history existed. (during the Roman Empire)
We aimed at designing a logo that would represent the wine route but also the Anatolian heritage to emphasise the particularity of the region. The swirls on the top part symbolises both the route and the Greek columns of which the region is full of the ruins from the Byzantine Empire. The logo also looks like a bunch of grapes.
This logo was chosen among three alternatives. A big majority in all parties voted for this logo thinking it perfectly reflects their project and the region as well as being simple and elegant.
