The concept of the package was to use organic materials so I got an actual bamboo leaf to create the display. Even if it was difficult to use only bamboo leaf, I tried to combine it with paper material. The inspiration came from bamboo-wrapped food, which is commonly found in Asian Cuisine. The interior of the small box was covered with printed bamboo leaves texture. When the box is viewed when it’s closed, it seems like a regular box containing take-out food. However, when it’s actually open for eating, it surprises the consumers with an entire new look.
The shipping box is sized just enough to contain the product. It minimizes the waste. There is a black label on the exterior of the shipping box, which provides information on the spork and the company. When consumers open the box and take out the product from shipping box, the consumers can see the cream-colored box and the label. (Dark green) The repetitions of the labels provide a unified packaging design. The box is designed to stay open and present the sporks inside. The cream-colored box is also designed to display the product on the shelf. Three of the sides have slits which keep the flaps in place so that the bamboo texture is exposed. Each spork has been wrapped with a dried bamboo leaf and has a sticker on it. Each sticker contains a word that describes a special feature of the spork.
