Within this class, we were tasked with creating a large scale brand identity, collateral for the parent company, and three subsidiary companies with various extensions. It had to have a distinct target audience, and each piece feels purposeful and properly fit within the context and aesthetic of the brand.
For my project, I created a high-end men's clothing company, Corduroy. This brand is timeless, family-owned, and sophisticated. It is a company that cares and has a personal relationship with its consumers, and does not stray from the hundred year history of the brand, but has made twists throughout the years to modernize the brand all while maintaining its historical roots. The company has three subsidiary companies, Belvedere, a speak-easy jazz lounge, Twelve, their own line of watches, and Altair, an in-house tailor to ensure the proper and well cured fit of their clothing.
Overall, the project received tremendous comments and remarks, stating that it is a brand unlike any other on the market. The messaging is consistent and clear through the branding and various extensions, and the icon of the coin provides a unique, regal feel that makes consumers feel important and full of class when interacting with the brand.
