2012 was a significant year for the Human Rights Campaign. With the selection of a new president and following historic election victories for the LGBT community across the country, HRC needed a new and innovative way to tell its story. For our 2012 annual report we partnered with Column Five Media – best known for their stunning data visualizations – to craft a multi-layered design approach. Using the language of infographics throughout the two-color, multi-page report, HRC highlighted the numerous political and personal narratives of a historic year in a way that was both visually engaging and easily accessible. We then wrapped the saddle stitched book with a striking dust jacket containing key infographics excerpted from the report that unfolded into a 20 inch, two-sided color poster. Both book and poster were bound together using a belly band and envelope printed in HRC’s signature blue and yellow brand colors.
