Sprout was designed as flexible family with low contrast forms, open apertures, a large x-height and slightly condensed width to allow for efficient typesetting of long-form content but also including some idiosyncrasies that scale well to give personality and flavor to branding projects and larger display or way-finding settings.

The defining features of this typeface are its tautness in the curves, where the inner counter appears to push against the outer and create a tension, and the relative simplicity of its forms. The lowercase a in the Roman, and the looping g in the Italic provide little moments of whimsy in an otherwise measured personality, allowing it to be used to evoke a variety of tones in different contexts.

Sprout aims to embody the spirit of its name and evoke energy, sprightliness and sturdiness.
