As part of our “20/2” series of personal projects, “Projection” looked to explore the potential of the human face as a surface for projected imagery.

The models' faces were primed with makeup to ensure a neutral, smooth projection surface. An array of lasers was photographed, and finally projected onto the skin of two models.

The result was a successful juxtaposition of organic skin tones and vibrant overlays, accentuating the tooth and texture of digitally projected light.
