This design is an animated poster meant to be viewed as a printed piece on the wall and then seen through an augmented reality app called Artivive. The limited edition poster advertises the Auburn University Graphic Design Juried Student Show to students, faculty, alumni, prospective students and the design community in and around Auburn, Alabama. The poster and animation feature information about important deadlines and locations. The lecture and exhibition will be held in the lobby of the Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.

The concept of this design is based on a visual paradox meaning the mediums of the poster are contradictory. The poster is printed in CMYK color breakdowns (but mostly black) while the animated poster is printing digitally in RGB (in the CMYK colors). The sound effect is a recording of an inkjet printer, the tool that frustrates us all with its constant maintenance of reinstalling ink. In the animation, the ink runs outs as fast as the words can print.

The design includes a poster and animation of the poster. The poster is 16 x 24” printed and the video is 4800 x 7200px. For the graphic design students, it hangs in the hallways as a reminder to submit their work to the juried show. For faculty, alumni, and other participants, the poster and animation will be seen on social media as a reminder to attend the exhibition.
