For this project I was assigned to do a portrait. I used my roommate as a model and my goal was to capture a very bored and unhappy look.

To create this image I went to the photography studio at my school and had my model sit on a stool with a table in front of her for her arm to rest on. Once I found the right photo, I went into photoshop and smoothed out part of her skin but I didn't want to smoothen it out too much because I wanted it to be her and not perfect. I also took the dodge and burn tool to add depth to her eyes and around her face. Finally I fixed the brightness layers and added a black and white filter.

I am very happy with how this image turned out. This has the exact feel that I wanted and I feel that this allowed for me to not only learn better portrait skills but also how to work with a model.
