This assignment focuses on composition, typographic hierarchy, pacing and time and sequence of type and image. Students selected a film of their choice to create a unique and appropriate title sequence.

Set in 1973, ‘Almost Famous’ is a coming of age motion picture that highlights a 15-year-old writer, William, and his journey across the country with an up-and-coming rock and roll band. Rolling Stone magazine directs him to interview each member and write an article to further promote the band. While on tour, William is exposed to eye-opening experiences that force him to grow up much quicker than he originally anticipated.

My solution captures this coming of age corruption. I utilized time-lapse photography to suggest the various stages of the film. The many visible props were used to represent characters or events that occurred during William’s journey, and the upbeat song, Overture by The Who, sets the proper tone felt throughout the movie.
