Qodon Consulting is a bioanalytical consulting company specializing in mass spectrometry. They wanted a visually engaging logo that would touch on the science and technology at the heart of their work.

First, I audited all the information provided by Qodon about their business. I then whittled the content down to the most essential ideas and inherent values of their company. The resulting concepts were the foundation of my design solution.

I utilized the “Q” in their name to play the dual role of initial identifier and containing shape. The counter of the “Q” became a hexagon, which represents a chemical structure, the essence of their particular science. For technology I hinted at the quadrupole mass spectrometer, which is their specialty, in the four central circles and the rod represented in the tail of the “Q”.

The client was extremely pleased with the logo solution. The combination of multiple, complex ideas into one clean and simple solution was what they wanted. Their clients and colleagues have responded with enthusiasm to the logo. And as planned, the allegorical design sparks interest giving Qodon an opportunity to enlighten people about their business.
