The goal was to drive community engagement and excitement for a local non-profit fundraising campaign. Avondale is an up and coming neighborhood in Birmingham, AL, and the fundraiser aims to help revitalize the community's park by installing a bronze sculpture and splash pad of Miss Fancy, the Indian Elephant who used to call Avondale Park her home.

We wanted to create a collector's item to accompany the fundraiser to encourage people to donate. The poster needed to be eye-catching, tell a story, and be able to live as both an informational poster in a place of business and as an art piece in someone's home. These collector's posters were hand printed by a local screen printing shop in Birmingham, adding to the collectibility. We thought it appropriate to include the mandala as a nod to Miss Fancy's heritage, while also adding to her "crowning glory".

The Save the Queen fundraiser is still ongoing, but has amassed a ton of exposure and engagement in a very short amount of time. Miss Fancy has held events, interacted online, and above all, recaptured the Birmingham community's fascination. The client said himself that he could not have imagined a better poster to represent his cause and Miss Fancy.
