Paper Sample Assignment: French Paper has a line of Kraft Papers. There are 9 papers in this line and the need to present them in a cohesive manor was the task.

APPROACH

Initially the paper line was going to be presented in a traditional fashion such as: a book or flip book. Upon further investigation into the paper and samples supplied by French Paper the choice was made to move a post card style of presentation. While the post card presentation would not be a new method of display, the idea to laser print one side of the card with pertinent and screen print the design on the flip side. Although the laser printed side would be consistent and filled with information about the paper, the design side would be completely random with silk sc reined imagery.

RESULTS

The end state of this project was as pictured. The one side had the information of the paper type, available paper weights and the name of the paper. In addition to this technical information provided in the bottom right corner, each “set” or paper type is emblazoned with a print making term or definition. The front of the cards had custom screen printing to demonstrate the possibility of screen printing on that specific paper. Each card in itself is unique and no two cards are the same due to the screen printing on the front side.
