For this series, I sought to create a series bright and attractive, yet handmade style of poster to emphasize the handmade elements of Ukrainian heritage. I chose to showcase a sunflower, a major symbol of Ukraine in three different positions with three different Ukrainian sayings.

I created a series of three linocut prints to use as my primary artwork for the posters. Once I printed the blocks, I then scanned the prints into the computer and digitally recolored them. After the prints were recolored, I added some additional lines to fit the poster size guides and added color to the background. I wanted to type to stand out, so I added a solid block of color to the bottom of the poster to draw attention towards the type.

I was very pleased with how this series has turned out and it has inspired me to continue creating linocut floral series.
