Shield is a pilsner beer that was inspired by the insect Pentatomoidea or another name it commonly goes by is the ‘Shield Bug’. This insect inspired the concept for this project because of its shield like shape and the simplicity of the name.
To capture a retro brand personality an angled grid system is applied. The typography used for the title is a distressed slab serif font and a distressed texture is applied to create depth and character. A deep, bold red is the primary colour and to create ultimate contrast white is used as the secondary colour. Overall the choices harmonize the design and successfully accomplish the objective.
