For this project I decided to create a band from scratch and create a Retro Music Box Set for promotional purposes for their new album. Within this box set I designed 4 collateral items, a poster trio, a t-shirt with the ghost symbol, a set of stickers, and of course the vinyl record of the Blue Ghosts new album. My goals during this project were to create an experience for a Blue Ghosts fan and create excitement surrounding their new album.

My creative process during the development of this promotional box set was to start by designing the album cover and going from there since that is how the process would be in a real world scenario. My thought process surrounding the naming the band "Blue Ghosts" was that I wanted to focus on how unique everyone is and encouraging everyone to be unapologetically themselves no matter what. During my mind map brainstorming and research I came across a rare species of fireflies that only appear during a certain season in the southern region of the United States. These fireflies are nicknamed "Blue Ghosts" because they emit a trail of light that stays light for a couple of minutes as opposed to a typical firefly that's light only lasts a few seconds. This goes back to my main theme of being yourself and leaving your mark on the world. Which goes with the motto of the Blue Ghosts band "Life's Short - Be Seen." I encourage you to look up a photo of the this firefly to see the resemblance between the effect on the album cover and the way the blue ghosts fireflies light up the night.

This project was voted a success by my classmates and professor. The incorporation of the symbolism between the blue ghost fireflies and the way that translates to the box and album design.
