As a design educator, the Covid-19 crisis has presented special challenges that may not be present in other academic disciplines. The need for collaboration between students and instructors is more important than ever and much more difficult. This problem has become worse the longer we work in a remote setting. This poster represents my frustration with the lack of "presence" of the students.
Over the last year and a half the process of a remote classroom has become less and less tenable. As fewer students are willing to participate, it encourages other students to neither appear on video or contribute verbally. The frustration for me has increased dramatically and in the course of one class the problem and a potential solution presented themselves intuitively. After some basic development, the final poster was executed.
To date, the primary response has been acknowledgment by fellow educators who seem to share similar perspectives and Instagram followers.
